 +The flow of cash in and out of a business. “Cash flow” is different from the terms “break-even” or “profitable”. In the early days, a company may have negative cash flow for some period but still look profitable on the books. Or, a company may have a positive cash flow and yet still lose money (for a time) because of a carry-over debt. Managing cash flow is crucial in an entrepreneurial firm to meet varying short- term cash needs.
